ALEX MACLEAN
Alex's knowledge really stood out to me in his presentation and small group discussion. He knew so much about a variety of topics from the environment to architecture. I also really liked how he grouped different things for his books. His photos communicated time, social issues and patterns, environmental change and issues, the effect of man on nature, and abstraction. I loved the photos where you almost couldn't tell what was going on or what we were looking at. Two of my favorite pictures were the boat dock photos. The first one shows how organized and proper those people are. Their boats are easy to access and the owners are able to get to their boasts without talking to one another. The second photo is showing a town where people are very close to one another and friendly with each other. They have no problem climbing over each others boats to get to their own. Both photos are visually pleasing. I love that the color of the water looks black in the photos because it adds contrast. The patters of the Daisy Docks are intriguing and at first sight it is hard to figure out that they are boats. You almost wonder if it looks as beautiful from the usual point of view. I love the shapes and colors in the second photo. The second photos makes you feel stressed and disorganized while the first photo makes you feel too neat. I think the second photo is my favorite because of the colors and how unique each boat is.
