Camera
This image shows depth of field because the object is in focus and the background is blurred. There is foreground which is the table, middle ground which is the camera, and background which is everything behind the camera that is blurred. The image is in black and white and the point of view is straight on. The image also shows reflection because the camera is being reflected into the table. The subject matter is compelling because it is a photo of camera taken by a camera and it is also a very old camera.
Painting With Light
This photo has a lot of energy, it was taken using a 30 second shutter speed. I traced myself with a flashlight while Mia drew the other light coming out of my hand. To take the picture a long shutter speed was used to make sure that we had enough time to draw what we needed. The shutter speed was roughly 30 seconds. There is positive and negative space with the blue light and black background. The image is very bright because of the bright blue light.
Railroad Tracks
The tracks are strong leading lines as well as the edge of the forest. The image shows pattern in the repetition of the railroad ties. There is texture shown in the rocks and leave. The point of view is very low and there is foreground, middle ground, and background. The rusty and green colors are very vibrant in the photo which makes it look better in color instead of black and white. The photo is very mysterious because you don't know where the tracks lead.
The Log in the Pond
I was very close to the subject. I created foreground, middleground, and background. The foreground is the blurred part of the log closest to the viewer, the middleground is the rest of the log and the background is the edge of the pond. My point of view was straight on and I was even with the log. The photo is horizontal. Line is included in the photo with the leading lines of the log and there is the texture of the log and in the ripples in the water. There is the added element of reflection of the trees in the water and I used depth of field so that some parts of the photo are out of focus and other parts are in focus.
The Tree
The point of view is straight on and up close so a lot of texture is shown. The object fills the whole photo which makes it interesting and you really focus of the subject and the texture of the bark and moss. The image is in color to show the contrast between the green moss and the brown bark.
The Shadow
I chose to take a picture of the shadow of my window on my bedroom floor. The shadow is slanted across my floor. The shadow is cast by the sun coming through the window into my darkish room. The positive space is the white space and the negative space is the dark shadow. Yes I used the lines of the floor and the shadows and the texture of the floor. The shadow in my picture is mysterious because of the lines and odd shapes created by the window curtain and a dream catcher that most people wouldn't recognize.
